ChatoLink is designed to minimize data collection. We do not require accounts. We may temporarily process the following:
- Messages — Transmitted between participants and stored on our servers only until delivered or for up to 24 hours if undelivered.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device information, and basic logs for security, debugging and service health.
- Device identifiers & group keys — Used to route or link chats (e.g.
group_keyordevice_id).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited data only to:
- Deliver messages between chat participants.
- Maintain, secure, and improve the service.
- Detect and prevent abuse, spam or misuse.
3. Message Storage & Deletion
Messages are deleted from our servers immediately after both sender and receiver confirm receipt. If delivery is not confirmed, messages are removed automatically after 24 hours. We do not keep backups or archives of conversations.
4. Data Security
We employ industry-standard practices for transmission security (HTTPS/TLS). Where end-to-end encryption is available, messages are encrypted between sender and receiver. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
ChatoLink may use local storage on your device to keep local chat history so your session persists in-browser. This means messages are stored only on your device and never permanently on our servers. You can clear this local history at any time by deleting your browser’s local storage or using the “Clear Chat” feature.
We do not use tracking cookies for behavioral advertising or profiling.
6. Third-Party Services
Certain features (for example, GIF search, media previews, or analytics) may request content from third-party providers. These providers operate under their own privacy terms—please consult their policies as needed.
7. Your Rights
Because we do not retain long-term personal profiles or accounts by default, there is typically no stored personal data to edit or delete. If you have concerns about temporary data we process, please contact us and we will investigate.

We may update this policy occasionally. If material changes occur, we will post an updated Effective Date at the top of this page.
